    Mortgage interest and taxes

Husband owns the residence and is solely responsible on the mortgage. Strangely enough, Wife does not own an interest in the home. Husband dies. The home goes into his estate and the wife is the sole beneficiary.

It takes 12 months to finally get the property transferred to the wife. During that period she pays the mortgage and property taxes.

Who deducts the mortgage interest and taxes during that period?

Consider researching if the estate is responsibile the estate gets the deduction from the "beneficiary loan". The "beneficiary loan" to be paid to beneficiary by the estate.

I wonder if the wife/beneficiary qualifies as a beneficial owner. I'll have to take a look at that.
