    Charitable donations on an estate

    Can charitable donations of clothing be deducted on an estate return or does it have to be stated in the will?

      Any charitable donation must be stated in the will in order to be paid out of the estate. The heirs should parcel up the donations (which I assume are the deceased's furniture/clothing, etc) among themselves.
