Sons father died. Stock owned by father now goes to Son Is the Stock that the son now owns have a set up value at time of fathers death?

If you mean stepped-up basis, then yes it does.

Was there a trust? Will? Who were the proceeds of sale of stock issued to? Or is the stock transferring directly to the son? What kind of money are we talking here and were there any other assets?
