    Income reported

A client who did some part time roofing job 3 years ago. He reported that income on his schedule C. He no longer doing that job, so no schedule C any more. Last year he got sued and lost. They require him to pay back the money he charged for roofing plus interest. Where do you deduct this money? Not schedule A misc subject to 2%?

If he were my client, I would report everything on Schedule C ... the refund on line 2 and the interest on line 16b.
