    No W2, No E-file

Have a client with no W-2s. Entirely self-employed.

Drake is telling me that since there are no W-2, the return must be paper filed.

    Anyone know anything about this??

Obviously, without seeing the return it is difficult to diagnose.

However, perhaps there is a form on your return (intentionally or inadvertently) which requires paper-filing (mailed)?
8332 (release of exemption) maybe, for example.

Friends double; family triple. Don't buy an audit for yourself. If someone has to go to jail make sure it is the client. Remember it is only taxes, nothing important.

        False Alarm

Client's file in Drake had two W-2s rolled forward from 2015. Since he no longer works there, the existence of these two unpopulated W-2s caused Drake to red-line the return. My fault.

Those Drake tax software folks must have recently visited Colorado and tried some of those funny green cigarettes??
