    Alabama Return

Need help with Alabama return. Scorp shareholder. K1 shows 179 deduction.
How is the 179 deduction recorded on shareholder's individual tax return.
Schedule E does not have entry area for this purpose.

    Report the "Net"

You are quite correct, there is no provision on the Alabama return to report s.179 as a separate item.

Subtract the s.179 amount from the ordinary income amount, and report the "net" at the bottom of Alabama Sch E.

If a non-resident, things get complicated. Respond further if this is the case.

Resident return. Thanks Snag, I was considering either to subtract from ordinary income or to take the deduction in the other income
section of the Form 40 (second Page, Part 1, Line8) as a negative figure.
