of a qualifying child for EIC, CTC, HOH, Dependency, etc., etc.: Has anyone heard if IRS is going to change or stay with the same rules for 2006 as they did in 2005 since there was such a controversy about all if it?

The Treasury Department in their "Blue Book" description of the 2007 Budget has proposed a change in the rules. This would not be effective until taxyear 2007. It appears there will be no change for 2006. I think the following website will take you to a press release - scroll to the bottom & you'll find the link to the actual budget proposal. In the table of contents, you can locate the correct pages that discuss the the proposed changes.
