single member LLC last now a partnership LLC

    single member LLC last now a partnership LLC

    In 2014 the company was a single member LLC so it was filed as a Sch C on member Form 1040. This year there are two owners so a 1065 will be filed. My question is do I mark the 1065 as an initial return for the company? It is the first 1065 return but not the first filing for the company.

    On the State level it's the same company/entity on the Federal level it's not. If the change didn't occur on the 1st of the year you might need to file two tax returns for 2015.
