I looked around the forum and didn't find any discussion on this issue, do we have any guidance from theIRS about the value and/or deduction of frequent flier airline miles donated to a charity? Seems like I have heard that they can be sold for cash so I would think there would be some value to them as a donation. Can't find any specifics about where or who buys them.

if you paid for the frequent flyer miles then you can deduct your cost as a donation to a 503c IF they are not given for the benefit of any specific person. If you got them as a reward for loyalty they are not deductible because you didn't pay for them.Believe nothing you have not personally researched and verified.
