    JTWROS husband and wife

    Husband and wife had investment accounts that were titled in both names as JTWROS (joint tenants with right of survivorship). They live in a non-community property state. Husband dies.

    Does the wife get a step up in basis to FMV for 1/2 of the investment portfolio?

      Yes she does. Have the broker run a copy of values as of DOD for you/her.
