Golden State Tax Training Institute -IRS Approved Study Course - $31.95

Received an email on this recently. 15 hr AFSP program for $31.95. Anybody tried this course? Any good?

I've taken the Golden State Tax Training 20-hr course before, which includes the required 15 hrs federal and 5 hrs CA state tax laws. Yes, it's a good course for getting your required hours, although I usually took other classes, too, because it is a rather elementary course, so I didn't learn much of anything new from it. I actually took that course 3 years in a row. It's different each year, but still rather elementary, so it's a great way to get your required hours, but not a big learning experience if you have been doing taxes for awhile. But the price is right!

Last year I took the Client Whys $80 package deal course. More spendy, but I learned a lot from it, and it was still rather affordable, so I will probably do that one again this year.

I can vouch for ClientWhys

I've been using their "Big Book of Taxes" ever since I became an EA some twelve years ago, both for CPE and as a desk reference. It's not perfect, but it sure beats most everything else that's out there.
