Looking for Something that will Process payroll and Generate good Financial Reports.

Have used Creative Solutions Accounting (expensive) & Medlin Accounting (not real strong financial reports).

Let me know your opinions.. probably be used for around 10 companies.

    Thanks!

Tough question. Why? Depends what you want to spend, features, support (US based or wherever), customer base and reputation. There is Intuit's QuickBooks with various products i.e., QB Pro; Premier, Enterprise. Also, a new product, Xero from Australia. Many other products out there.

Bottom line - is for you to do a review of the products available showing features and prices that fits your needs.

I have Sage50 (used to be known as Peachtree) and QuickBooks. If you are looking to customize reporting, Sage is definitely better than QB. For the price ~500/yr I think it does a decent job for general ledger/payroll.

Are your financial reports to be used to file tax returns? Then check out the write-up software your tax prep software company offers. To report to clients? Then ask what information they need and demo products to find one that reports that easily or that you can customize to report. Do your clients already use a software such as QB? Make sure you chose the same or one that can send and receive info from your clients' software. You might visit a bookkeeping message board for suggestions.

Very good point. Also, if the accounting software can be "imported" to the tax software you use (if you have tax software)
