He first got a notice in May and sent them copies of front and back of cleared check. Gets a second notice this week. I couldn't get through on the practitioner line yesterday so called the 1040 line. She told me that the 3rd party designee on 1040 is only good for one year, so she couldn't discuss any other tax year with me. That's why I thought maybe it got posted to 2013. The 2013 balance due check cleared 4/21 and 1st estimated cleared 4/22 so I doubt he accidently sent them in together.
So today POA in hand and I'm on hold for 2 hr 49 minutes. 1040 line will not allow you to even hold.
E-services won't let me set up an account, and guessing it may be because I set one up years ago and never used it.Leave a comment:

If you don't want to play phone tag, respond to the deficiency notice with proof of payment.
I just did one last week.Leave a comment:

I have been on hold w/ practitioner line for hour 47 minutes!
IRS is not showing client paid 4/14 estimated payment but he has proof of check clearing. I'm guessing it got applied to 2013 tax instead of 2014 tax. Anyone know of a way to get this changed electronically without speaking to IRS?Tags: None
