    IP- PIN IRS notice

IP PIN- IRS assigned PIN for Identity Theft:

My client recently received a letter from the IRS indicating that they had to go to their website for more verification, as they have received an IP-PIN that I entered in their 2014 tax return. Their return was accepted by the IRS on 04.11.15 and I was just notified last Friday May 1st of this IRS letter, which I have requested a copy of and have not received a copy yet.

Has this happended to anyone else? Could this be a scam? I have filed their tax return
For the last two years (2012 & 2013) with an IP-PIN with no problem or additional verification.

    Thanks,

When in doubt, best place for answer to your question is to contact the IRS
