    Abusive Partner..Spouse moved out.. filing status ..

    Client moved out of house (September 2014) from abusive husband with a police restraining order against him. Had no contact with husband since then.
    What filing status should I use?..MFS or Single.. He did not have access to her W-2's. No kids involved. She does not know how he is filing. Can someone please advise as what to do.

    It's unclear as to what the status is. One place you refer to the other party as a partner and in another as husband. If there was a legitimate marriage and no divorce, how could you file as single? If no marriage, then it would not be MFS, The facts and circumstances of the case would dictate things.

    Only in government or politics is a "cut in spending" really an increase. It's just not as much of an increase as they wanted it to be, therefore a "cut".

      I did not see partner mentioned in original post and not edited. so, it would be MFS no other choice.

      I now see partner in heading
