W-2 from Carnival Cruise Lines

Client's W2 has wages in box 1 and tax withheld in box 2 and nothing else in any other boxes. Is this normal? What about the medicare and ss taxes that weren't withheld? I'm confused, can anyone help me? Thanks for your help in advance.

I have a cruise ship employee client too. His W2 looks the same as you described. Not subject to SS & Medicare (nor SS benefits.) Subject to state & local income taxes, which he pays in quarterly, since there's no withholding for those taxes.
