    Clean Fuel Deduction

The deduction for clean-fuel vehicles under Section 179A is limited to $2,000 for most cars, trucks and vans. The deduction increases to up to $5,000 for trucks or vans with gross vehicle weight rated at greater than 10,000 pounds and up to 26,000 pounds, and $50,000 for a truck or van with gross vehicle weight rating over 26,000 pounds. The $50,000 limit also applies to any bus with seating capacity of at least 20 adults, not including the driver.

    Clean Fuel Deduction

I have a client who is in farming and has ordered a pickup truck that runs on gasoline and propane. His friend told him that their CPA said that this type of vehicle would qualify for a $5,000.00 deduction in addition to regular depreciation. The only thing that I have found is that a "clean fuel vehicle" can qualify for up to a $2,000.00 deduction, not including "electric" vehicles. Am I missing something?
