TP needs to file 12, 13 & 14 tax returns but TP divorced in 2014. TP's W-2's for 12 & 13 has TP's married name, 14 has TP's maiden name. TP will file MFS 12 & 13 and HOH for 14. Do I use maiden name on all tax returns?
I think you have to file using the name which is currently on SSA's records. So that is the controlling factor, not what is on the W-2's. If she hasn't changed it with SSA, you continue to use the old name until it is.
