I have misplaced my confirmation letter for a EIN # and the bank wants to see it. Does anyone know who to contact or fax for this info
    Thanks

The number on the EIN letter is 800-829-4933 but it says: "This notice is issued only one time and the IRS will not be able to generate a duplicate copy for you."

Do they only accept the EIN confirmation letter?
That's the path of least resistance, but surely they must have an alternative.
I'd ask them what could substitute for that, such as some sort of official correspondence from IRS with the EIN on it.
If they don't recognize any alternate, maybe it's time for an alternate bank.

Does client have any doc that shows the EIN# on it? Did client register it anywhere?
Believe nothing you have not personally researched and verified.

          EIN confirmation

If the original cannot be found, form 147-C can be requested from IRS. Just did this on behalf of client and IRS can fax it to you upon request if you have POA. No POA, use form 8821.
