Client got divorced early 2014, they have 2 small children
Children live with her and he gets them every other weekend.
She is eligible for EIC based on income and children living with her.
He was going to have to pay, so she told him he could take kids as dependents.
He already self-filed and in addition to claiming dependents filed as HOH.
Spoke with him and he agreed that his was not the primary residence and has agreed to amend to single.
My question is if I e-file her return not claiming kids, but taking EIC will it immediately be rejected on e-file because he already used kid(s) to claim HOH? Or, will it be a match problem after the e-file, which hopefully they would have processed his amended prior to the letter that would be sent?
