    Paper Pro Staplers Again

Remember that thread a month or so ago in which some guy wrote in praising this stapler? To recap: I kidded him about nitpicking (offered to hook him up with a girl smitten by Eberhard Faber erasers).

Well anyway, mine conked out last week and I remembered his advice, looked it up online, and ordered two (one red-one blue/ yeah-they're snazzy/trendy) of the model 1000 ($17.32 each). They came in yesterday and it's just amazing. They're non-electric, but work like one--doing away with 85% (so says the ad and it's true) of the effort required to staple paper (you can staple 20 sheets of paper together using literally one finger).

They're light as a feather and will handily stand up vertically on end to be grasped like a small hand stapler or rest horizontally on the desk, whichever way you prefer. They're not as big or long as a regular full-size stapler, but will still hold a full strip of staples so you're not always running out like a small one-hand model (my old Ace "Cadet" model) does.

Well anyway, whoever you are--thanks! I just thought I'd give the thing a plug since you were nice enough to give us a useful tip and to remind myself--never get "too big for your britches." Just because there's an opportunity to poke fun at something, or it appears to be nerdy/trifling/whatever or is unfamiliar, that doesn't mean it isn't worthwhile. I guess I'm saying that we board members here are all comrades and if one of us seriously feels a subject to be worthy of discussion, then it should be given equally serious consideration.

Humility, humility! Isn't that a difficult thing to find nowadays? Only person I ever knew who didn't think there was a shortage of it was an old cotton ginner I used to work with. Sometimes during a Southern summer you can almost swim in airborne moisture and whenever the humidity hit ninety-something percent, he'd say "Man; this humility is terrible today, ain't it?"

    Staplers

I had pickup that type of stapler some time ago but it must of been the smallest model because it would only do 5 sheets max. Now that I know a 20 sheet stapler is available I will look for it. The web site had no ordering info on it, did you call the contact number?

          this website -- BuyOnlineNow.com

When you get there hit "office supplies" once, then again, then "desk staplers." It's $17.32 for the black model and nineteen-something for the colored ones (I got the colored ones--they look good on your desk).

P.S. You can pick it up and use it with one hand.

How do you like the 3/8" staples if you are only stapling a couple of sheets?

Jack, I have a smaller handheld stapler for the small jobs.

I never thought about it. I'm just using regular standard staples from Quill. I don't know what size that is, but I haven't had any problems. Should I be using something different?

3/8'" staples are much larger than standard staples. I also don't know the size of a standard staple but I just looked at the two and I would say the 3/8 is about double the thickness size.

now looked at a large, heavy-duty stapler that I use to clip together large batches of paper and the box of staples for that says "3/8" on it. But that thing's a foot long with a big lever-type handle on it and I'd never use it for any kind of a light job.
