    1099 Miscellaneous

    t/p received a 1099 Misc with income in box 3(other income). He gets a W-2 at car dealership but received this bonus based on customer surveys of the general managers satisfaction national wide from a motor company.This is not from his employer. Should he pay SE tax on this.

    Nope. Report it on Line 21. I usually put the EIN of the issuer on that line.

      I agree with Hoffman---I have people that work at dealerships and receive 1099's from particular vendors. I found an IRS quote on it once, but it is not SE taxable.
