    PA taxes

Does PA allow for itemized deductions. I can't find a form and software doesn't give it on the PA form, but thought maybe I didn't have t hem all downloaded.

No, PA doesn't have itemized deductions and doesn't have a standard deduction either.

No she won't, but she might qualify for PA Tax Forgiveness on Sch SP. Your software should carry her income info to this schedule and calculate it for you.

My general rule of thumb is that PA is the flattest of the flat tax states. MA is one of, if not the bumpiest flat tax state. Though I won't claim to be familiar with all eight of them.

As KBTS says, look at Schedule SP. Also, PA doesn't generally tax retirement income like IRAs, pensions, etc. So, PA reportable income for a retired person can often be relatively small- typical would be interest, dividends, capital gains. Small enough to qualify for Tax Forgiveness in many cases.
