    Moving Expenses

    If a TP meets the time and distance criteria for moving expenses, can he take the deduction just because he wanted to move back to his home state of MA from Oregon? He resigned from his OR job and moved to MA. He had a job waiting for him upon his return. Thanks

      As long as he meets the 39-week rule in the new location, it is a valid deduction. It doesn't matter if it is voluntary.
