I don't recall ever getting a letter for my CAF number, although I must have one since I have filed 2848 before. Per the instructions on the IRS site, I called the Practitioner Priority Service to have them send me my CAF. None of the options listed fit, so I hit the first option (questions for individual taxpayer accounts) and was told the hold time was greater than 60 minutes! Does anyone know of a better way to get my CAF number? Can I file 2848 for a client without it? Thanks!
