    Answer to Cruise Convention Question

    The airfare has to be included in the total expenses subject to the $2,000 limit for a US cruise.

    The way I learned it the actual cruise expenses are not taken. The airfare and registration for the seminar is if there is not a like seminar within a reasonable distance of the attendee's home location.
    Believe nothing you have not personally researched and verified.

      There shouldn't be any restriction imposed based on home location; Hawaii is as good as across the street for deduction purposes. However, all of the ports of call have to be U.S. possessions and the ship must be U.S.-flagged (rare). And yes, the airfare in this case would be included, because the $2000 is for "expenses of attending."
