Mileage to get car serviced-business or personal?

Client takes standard mileage rate. What do you do with miles for taking the vehicle to get serviced, business, personal or pro-rate based on % biz miles per year?

I would pro-rate. Is it substantial?

I believe it would be personal

I believe it would be personal since repairs are accounted for in the standard mileage rate.

this is an ordinary and necessary expense for a business so if car is used for both business and personal it should be allocated between the two.
Believe nothing you have not personally researched and verified.

When was the last time you took your car that has business use ONLY to get an oil change?

My service guy always has me check his sales tax forms and a quick check on his books while I am there. Not same if you use one of those firms or dealerships though.

              What are you talking about??

The only way I can make sense out of this comment is that your auto mechanic is one of your clients, and that you always conduct some tax or accounting business while getting your car serviced, so that all of the mileage associated with those trips is business mileage.

              I can't argue with that...
