    IRS ACA best practices guides

IRS has some pages for tax preparers where they discuss due diligence and best practices for ACA.

This is on the IRS “ACA for Tax Pros” page:

There's a link for the SRP (Shared Responsibility Payment) and one for the PTC (Premium Tax Credit.)

Do I need to know who your doctor is?

Thank you. I will follow your links to research more.

On the Return Preparer Best Practices list medicare card is listed as approved documentation. What about the Statement from Social Security that shows the amount of Social Security the taxpayer received for the year along with Medicare Part B premium? Would this not be proof that they had medical insurance be sufficient as I do keep a copy of this in my file?
