Unless Lacerte has a special deal with IRS I seriously doubt you can e-file 1040-X. IRS.Gov says you can not e-file so even if some tax prep software allowed it, I would NOT trust it!

You can e-file amended 1065 and 1120 with most professional tax prep software.

Lacerte told me no efiling of any kind after 10/31 until it opens again in January.

The IRS shuts down their system for Individual returns on November 22nd, 2014.

Business returns can be tentatively be filed until December 26th, 2014.

Some software companies decide to shut things down a bit earlier for their own systems. However, I'm surprised that Lacerte says it's shut down. I use ProSeries (also from Intuit) and I THINK we can still e-file.
