941, not sure if filed or not

1st quarter 941 - not sure if secretary got these filed. If we send in another first quarter 941, what will happen?

the very first thing I would do is ask the secretary for a copy of the filing. Go to the source, don't guess.

If you have POA for the 941 forms you will be able to determine via IRS phone contact. If you are signed up on e-services with POA - you can access the EIN payroll account or receive transcripts

I generally do this for any of my payroll clients.

Last year I made the same mistake. E-filed the 941 and then my part time assistant filed the paper version. Almost 8 weeks later taxpayer got a letter that the paper filing is not valid because the e-file was already accepted. If they disagreed they can contact otherwise ignore it.
