Domestic Production Activities Deduction

I also have a question on this. Domestic Production Activities Deduction includes "extracted" property. Do you think that would include trees? (Logging company with equipment, hires out to clear, log, etc. on land owned by others.)

Since not one answer I did some more looking, the answer is No. Timber is considered more like real property so doesn't qualify. Thought someone might like to know.

I looked the other day too, but couldn't find anything on it. I think probably others did also, but had a similar experience. There's not much detail on it out there. From the stuff I looked at, I kind of drew the conclusion that trees might be eligible, but couldn't tell for sure (although my policy is: when in doubt; deduct).

I know what you mean about no replies. It does kind of irk a body to get zero responses. I would have given you the courtesy of an "I don't know" except that, as a certified member (per jainen) of the "Know-Nothing" party, I just hate to keep saying "Hello; I don't know."

Maybe I should try a variation of the famous Marx Brothers line ("Yes, we have no bananas") which attempted to put a positive spin on a negative reply. Something like "Hello. You are not being ignored and yes, I have no opinion on this matter."

You can also just look at the number of views to your thread to see how many looked at your question. If nobody answers your question, but you have 100 views, that means 100 different people looked at your thread but didn't know the answer.

At this particular time, 98 different computers have logged on to this thread, but only three of us have posted. That tells me allot of people did not know your answer, but were at least interested enough to see what your question was.
