        The only SEP Plans eligible for employee contributions are those adopted as SARSEP's prior to the enactment of SIMPLE IRA plans in 1997 (I believe is the year). They are grandfathered. Any plans adopted after 1996 do not allow for EE contributions.

        This rule apparently only limits Salary Reduction Contributions and not direct individual contributions by an employee/participant.
