Has the IRS completely been hacked and spit out?

Wow - past few weeks are ones for the records.

    1) Tax client who was identified as Identify theft two years ago filed her tax return this year WITH NEW ANNUAL PIN. Client has not received her tax return. It appears it is being held AGAIN.
2012 - Client does not get return. ID theft. Her $800 refund was being held. She has lived at the same location and worked at the same location for 15+ years. The falsely filed one should have stuck out because there were Numerous changes form last year. In particular - A NEW STATE! Did that get slowed down? Nope - Paid. They didn't want to hear about what I thought or knew where her identity was stolen from (Florida ReHab). August for a refund.
Last year I didn't know they sent her a pin. Filed without it - took forever to get refund.
This year. I have the pin. I file the return a month ago and the client has not received her refund. Website says delayed again.

    2) I was supposed to get MY refund on 3/20/14. NO show. Next day - nope. IRS website that night stated my return was being reviewed and may not be in the bank when promised (similar words).
They state they canno validate my income? WHat? Really - Same job past 5 years. No changes - Nothing. I had to bring them copies of my W2's - 1099-4 - UnENJOYment paperwork to their office.
They were happy to report that all appears to be in order and I should have my refund in 4-6 weeks! Really - I should have mailed it with docs - I would have received it faster. AND I AM THE TAX GUY!!!

    3) Phone call a few minutes ago. Did you get my fax? No said I. It's the IRS - I don't know what to do. Let me look and call you back I said.
Website: IDVERIFY.IRS.gov. They need more information to process the return accurately. > PLEASE <

Is anyone else having issues like this??

Has anyone else been requested to go to IDVerify.IRS.gov

Myself and another client received paperwork yesterday to go to IDVerify.IRS.gov and complete questions.

AM I too long winded? Is that why no one answers?

    Thanks

Well, with my fried brain, I have no idea what you're talking about. Maybe a little more long-windedness would help.
You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be misquoted, then used against you.

That ID Verify thing that the IRS is supposedly doing is nothing but spooky to clients -- and me, too. I've never seen anything like that before and all of a sudden in the year that I've had several clients' returns rejected due to a crook already filing with their numbers, these letters show up and not sure if this is really the IRS or another crook. The letter basically states, "we need you to verify your identity, so call this number or go to this website and answer all our questions so we can verify who you are." Well, maybe WE need to verify who THEY are. Why would my clients who have already had their identity compromised just pick up the phone or go to the website and give their personal information out without any assurance that it is really the IRS and the reason for the verification is so they can process their tax return? Like I said, it's spooky.
