    non qualifying insurance

I have a client who found a non qualifying health insurance with better coverage and a lower premium. Can they still deduct this as a self-employed health insurance? If they can were can I find that in writing?

    Question

I assume by non qualifying you mean under the Affordable Care Act. If my assumption is correct then I see no reason why it would not be good for the SE health insurance deduction. If you mean somethiing else then it might not qualify. for instance a plan that pays you X amount for each day in a hospital does not count.

      Kram,
yes that is exactly what I am talking about. Do you happen to know where I could find that in writing to show to my client?
