    Deceased Taxpayer -Death Certificate?

    Is it necessary to file the death certificate with the return and use the form 8453? There is a balance due on both federal and state. Was planning on EF with 8879 form but not certain now.

      It is not necessary to file the death certificate with the return. You just need to have it in the file.
