Support Test
Yes, it does. According to Publication 17--
If a child receives social security benefits and uses them toward his or her own support, the benefits are considered as provided by the child.
But keep in mind that the support test does not require that a parent provide more than half of a child's support; it requires that the child not provide more than half of his own support.
