How to obtain form SSA-1099 replacement?

Anyone have experience with this before and if so can my client obtain a duplicate by walking into the local SS office?

Yes, your client can get it from the local SSA office. However, you might want to try getting it on-line, if your client has established an account with them. It will be much, much quicker.

If the client has been receiving SocSec benefits for several years and nothing has changed, you can easily calculate the following year's benefit using the COLA. Of course, if the are in their first or second year, or if they are getting adjustments due to continued employment, that won't be reliable.

That's usually a quick way to figure it. Then double check against the net amt being deposited into their bank account. Medicare deductions are standard for other than high-income TP's, and/or if they started having withholding..... Then a duplicate form is the way to go.
