    Texas & taxes

If a taxpayer has wages from working in Texas in 2013, does anything have to be filed with the state of Texas for income taxes?

No. Texas has no state income tax.

And if Texas secedes from the United States to form an independent republic, then your client could potentially qualify for the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion.
