    Lacerte

I have received a group discount in the past from Lacerte because of a franchise I belonged to. They told me no more group discounts. Has any other Lacetre user heard this?

    Good Package

No I have not heard of this. My experience with Lacerte is it's a good package, and probably it is worth paying your new higher price.

      Early renewal discount

Only one I know of is early renewal discount. I used to get a discount with QuickBooks, but I forget if it was on the Lacerte price or QuickBooks price. I just got the renewal notice & haven't looked at it closely. They have been raising the price a lot between years. However it's a good program and I don't want to learn a new program.

I was taking the early discount and another 15%. Besides their normal increase It will cost us anothet $900 because of the lost discount. Guess my prices are going up accordingly.

            Old Lacerte User

I was a Lacerte User from 1996 to 2002 until I just could not bear the pricing any more. Switched to another company which I am satisfied with, and they keep upgrading their product with minimal increase on cost. And their technical support is very good with limited time waiting.

I noticed a huge difference once Lacerte sold to Intuit, even though I am an Intuit QB Pro Advisor and use those products.

Lacerte is definitely a very good product but some of us just can not justify the cost, even though we continue to raise pricing, etc. It seems somewhere I read or heard that Lacerte is really for the "big" tax users rather than those of us that have smaller practices of less than 500 client returns.

                Tax Software

Switched to TaxWorks. Been using for 3 years now. The conversion from Lacerte to TaxWorks was pretty easy 3 years ago, so I am sure it has improved since.
