Hope Credit & Independent Child

Student lives in own apartment all year but dad pays 80% of support. Student earned less than $3,900. I just need confirmation that dad can claim as other dependent and will be able to get Hope Credit. With all the confusing discussions lately I wanted to double check.

You can claim

If a child is a full time student at college they do not have to live at home to be claimed by parent. They have until they are 24. Parent can claim and take education credits.
