    Ptin

    Aloha,

How long does it take for a new person to get a ptin from irs.gov?

    Mahalo,

P.S. My heart goes out to TheTaxBook authors. The TV said it was rather cold in Minnesota the last week or so.

Don't you already have a PTIN??

    From IRS http://www.irs.gov/Tax-Professionals...turn-Preparers

You should be able to apply and receive access and receive.

Hopefully the website works better than in the past year or so, I processed renewal and it was almost immediate.

    Good Luck

    Sandy

      new ptin time line

      Hello,
I'm looking to expand staff and may need to get some new people ptins. I'm wondering if anybody knows "for sure" if people get the ptin right away or if it takes months.
I've made my ptin for many years.
      Mahalo,

Last time I helped someone get a PTIN it took over a month if I remember. Make sure the applicant is current on their taxes.

The new hire had her ptin after filing for it online in less than a week in case others expand the employee base.
