    form 4136

Under line 11, a, LPG petroleum gas has a tax credit of 18.3 cents, what type of transaction would that be to get the credit? I have poultry farmers who use LP to heat their barns, and are not charged tax (agriculture), but is this tax built into the cost or is it computed on the ticket when sold?

I think that this is a road use tax that would be charged on LP sales at fuel stations or to customers that use LP for vehicles. I remember that when we had LP tractors, we had to have a separate tank for that fuel. If the TP bought LP for off-road use from a truck stop, for example, the excise tax would be charged by the seller and the credit could then be taken on the 4136. Deliveries of LP to buildings for heat would not have the excise tax charged on the sale.
