I just read an article in the NATP TaxPro Monthly. If a person already has health insurance and their income falls within the guidlines to qualify for a premium subsidy are they entitled to it and how do they get it?

My understanding is that you must buy your insurance through an exchange to qualify for the subsidy. If you have a policy purchased directly from an agent you will not qualify for the subsidy regardless of your income. In other words, a democratic government is the only one in which those who vote for a tax can escape the obligation to pay it.

Here is an interesting article
Here is an interesting article I located. I am a licensed Health Agent and I started taking the "Agent and Broker Training for Federally Facillated Markeplace". Its my understanding the consumer can purchase thru the Market Place Exchange via online Broker, local Brokers and local Agents unless the Agent or Broker has a non resident Ins license. I would find it hard to believe that if the consumer qualified for a credit, the credit would be denied due to purchasing thru a Broker or Agent.

AARP Health Insurance for those between age 50 and 65
My understanding is the AARP plans are no longer covering persons between age 50 to 65 and they will have to go to the exchange to buy insurance. Does this sound correct or perahaps is it only Aetna/AARP plans doing this. I got a letter that they are no longer will insure my family and I becasue of the New Heath Care Law.Comment

If you ever sold Health Ins, you may just welcome ACA
Blaming Pres Obama that AARP no longer is offering their health insurance between age 50 and 65 is like blaming Budweiser for one of their Patron's DUI's offenses.
If you ever sold Health Ins as I did several years ago in NE and now in AZ, the thought of selling Guaranteed issue health ins policies is started to become exciting. I cannot tell you how many times I completed an app for a client and had it declined due to health reasons.Comment

AZ,
Don't get your hopes up about no more applications being declined for health reasons, my understanding is they can still slap a risk premium on the policy for pre-existing conditions, so it has the same effect, they person will not sign on becasue it's too costly.Comment
