Client has an issue with her sister. I guess sister does not want to give copy of parent tax return to my client. Client says her parent will signed the 4506-T but does not know how her parent's (single parent) name exactly appear's on tax return. Middle initial could be used or not. Also, client wants to know if the IRS will notify her sister of the 3rd party request since the sisters address is used on parent tax return. I called the IRS and they seemed a little confused of whether or not the IRS will mail out a letter notifying the taxpayer of the 3rd party request since the taxpayer itself orginally signed the 4506-T form in the first place authorizing the 3rd party to receive a transcript copy. Parent is NOT my client and I believe parent signs their own tax return. Anyone had any experience with this?
