    IRS seminar in California

    Is anyone going there?

I plan to attend my first IRS seminar, ever. Choose CA since I have to fly anyway and want to see the ocean again.

Sandy's right, let us know. She and I only live about 50 miles apart. Not bad at all here in CA.

The only one I saw was in Las Vegas.

              Very close!

              RLC,

Anaheim is only about 25 miles from me, so it's very close. Thanks for the info.

Yup, that's the place and time. I am very exited you live so close by Dennis and Sandy and would love to meet with you. Dennis, you have my e-mail, so just e-mail me your phone number and I will get in touch with you. It's part of my business trip, right, or do I have to count this meeting as personal pleasure?

Did either of you ever attend one of the IRS seminars?

                  Yes, I did

                  Gabriele,

I did attend a forum in Las Vegas, but have not had the personal time to go to another. Every year, I wish I could go. Seems like it's always something! I thought they were great. Good place to learn and investigate some of the software companies. Yes, you do receive CPE credits after you've registered. I remember 8-10 for the three days???

When RLC sent the Anaheim site to us, I made up my mind I would go this year, come rain or shine, so we'll see you there. I have not heard from Sandy, yet, but I am suppose to call her tonight and will ask her then. She's so busy and may not be able to attend all three days, but lunch or dinner is definite!

I will email you in the next day or two and we can fix a plan to meet. So looking forward to it!

                  Talk to you later,
                  Dennis

                    IRS forums

I have attended IRS forums for several years. I went to 2 or 3 in Atlanta, then 1 in Orlando and then back to Atlanta and this year in Orlando again.

Maybe next year I will pick a new place to visit.

But I have always found them very informative and very much worth attending. Most of the speakers are very good. Occasionally, you get someone who reads the power point screens but since we do an evaluation of each seminar, they seem to be weeding those out.

They always have a room with vendors. This gives you a chance to look at new or different programs and also to interact with IRS staff.

Very good value for the money.

                        Black Bart - Orlando

It is Augugst 1-3 and is being held at Disney's Coronado Resort.

Pretty cool. I usually just drive back and forth since I am so close to Orlando. But maybe I will stay over there at least 1 night.

Information on the forums is at www.taxforuminfo.com

i hope this not the same forum that they put on hear in seattle, I went to that one last year and the retirement specialist from the IRS could not even answer one guys question about a simple plan. Most people were less than thrilled with the so called experts.

                            No - different

There are only 6 IRS Forums each year. This year they are in Anaheim, Chicago, Atlanta, Orlando, Las Vegas and New York.

It is a 3 day seminar. Pre registration is $159 and if you belong to NAEA you get a $30 discount. Can't beat the price.

Subjects are repeated so that you can get to all of them. They have 4 sessions going at a time.

Also have an exhibit hall with vendors from all the software companies, different divisions of IRS, bank products and lots more.

They also have arrangements so that you can meet with IRS to discuss any particular case you are having problems resolving.

                            I always enjoy it.
