    NT Email Clients

What is the most used business email client and contact management solution among members of this board? I am guessing MS Outlook and I'd like to hear from users of that and anything else. Does your email or your crm solution include invoicing or billing software? Please specify if your solution is based on your computer or server or on the cloud and how many email accounts your office has. TY for all responses. The reason for the question is that I have for a long time been a very satisfied user of a fairly inexpensive solution called Chaos Intellect but lately something on my computer is blocking it and it says it cant get the internet even though other programs on my computer can and the only solution is to restart windows. The company has until now had great tech support but they have been no help with this problem.

    I prefer Intellect

One reason to use Intellect instead of Outlook is that Outlook does not allow you to book conflicts on your calendar. Suppose you have a dentist appointment already scheduled. A client calls and wants to set up an appointment for that date. You know that you can change your dentist appointment if you care to. With Intellect you can add the tax appointment and it will show a conflict to be resolved. With Outlook, you cannot add the tax appointment until you move that dentist appointment.

(Or perhaps I just didn't know how to do it.)

Well I am in the same boat as you with Intellect. I updated to their latest version and had numerous problems. One of the features I liked most was being able to flag emails and then sort them. I can no longer do it. Sometimes my Inbox emails disappear... nothing shows. I have to restart. I really like how Intellect works with appointments and tasks.

I am considering going to Outlook look forward to other folks responses.

Typical email and response from client

        Hi xxx,

I'm trying to finish your tax return and I need the following:

        1. Your W2

        2. The 1099int from your bank

        3. Charitable contributions

        Thanks,

        veritas

        Client responds from IPhone,

        Hi v,

My furnace receipt is attached. When will you be done? I need it for the mortgage guy yesterday.

        Xxx

The only reason I use Outlook is because it came with the MS Office. In the last year I upgraded to MS Office 2010 from 2003. I am sure Outlook does way more then what I use it for thus I probably should take a course on it someday.

            Outlook and double-book

I wish I could tell you why - like, perhaps, there is a setting you could change, but our Outlook double-books time periods just fine.

I've tried dedicated CRM software- have yet to find one I really like.

I use Thunderbird and their calendar called Lightning as my email / calendar instead of outlook.
Began using it about 8 years ago when the program size of Outlook was massive compared to my computer memory and have never looked back. Relatively small footprint on my computer, easy to use, FREE and I just export my calendar to my desktop and then import it to Google when I want it backed up.
