Am I a special EA or did the IRS make an error?

I called the "Office of Practitioners Enrollment" about 2 weeks ago as my 4th time checking the status of my EA renewal card. Going back to JohnH thread this morning, the lady for which I have talked to several times before, was very polite and apologized that I was not mailed my card early. What a contrast from the previous 3 times. Oh, and I was sent 2 cards.

I call it the "Leaning, Smiling Elephant Approach".
If an elephant leans hard enough and keeps smiling big enough, you just can't say "No" to him.

Considering the "stuff" IRS has had to put up with lately, I wouldn't be surprised if we begin to see a "kindler and gentler" IRS.
But I could be wrong now.
