    Copy of Form 1099-A

Client's property was foreclosed in 2012. But he has not received a copy of the Form 1099-A. He does not want to contact the former lender for his own reason. So is there any way to get a copy of the Form 1099-A without going to the former lender?

The IRS should have it eventually.

But possibly not yet. Ask for a Wage and Income Transcript.

Thank you. BTW, since the property has been officially foreclosed in 2012, I think it is still a reportable event even of no 1099-A or 1099-C issued. Am I correct? And if that's the case, how are you going to report it without the information on a 1099?
