    E-file an extension

    I have someone, who is not a client, who is looking to e-file an extension for his 1040. His state allows him to go online and file an extension through that particular state.

    Does the IRS have a place where a taxpayer can e-file their own Form 4868?

      Extension for non-client

      I would do it for him for no charge. Who knows, you may get a client out of the deal. It doesn't take a lot to efile an extension.

          He's someone I would like to help, as he is related to a client, BUT, I don't want to attach my name to his tax matters. I just want to be able to direct him how to e-file his own 4868.
