Need help with Pennsylvania Local return and Drake software.

We have a client that has 2 W-2s with a combined 3 different local tax codes, not counting the PILST code. none of the codes are for the home address for the client.

I would appreciate some help, clearer explanation of the local filing in Drake. Also does not help that codes appear to need filing for 2 different districts.

    The codes are 731004, 730903, and 721012.

You should also post your question on the Drake Forum in the Drake software sub-forum. A lot of Drake users only read messages on that Forum.

Determine resident jurisdiction and the rate and the collector for that district.

File one local return with that collector.
You'd only need to file w/multi collectors if the resident jurisdiction changed during the year.
The LST is not income tax, so don't apply that to withholding.

      Sorry, can't help w/Drake specifics.

Thanks for replies. Main problem was thinking that the client would have to file in all 3 tax districts. Client lived in one home all year so only one local return needed.

Only one local return needed, credit all 3 withholdings on the one return, as long as they are for local earned income tax and not other taxes (like LST). The only except is city of Phila, you cannot take a credit for that tax, but there are some exceptions to that. The collector who your mailing the local form to will sort out which municpality gets how much, you don't have to worry. Drake knows the collector and rate and will print thier name and address at the bottom of the form, all you do is enter the school district/municipality in the Drake PA / LOC screen and Drake does the rest. Hope this helps
